The slate is the reason
A full-size table normally has a slate bed made of three or so heavy pieces, and each piece is a serious carry on its own. The rest of the table is timber legs, a frame, cushions and cloth. Together, a big table often weighs several hundred kilos, and it will not go anywhere in one piece. It needs to be taken apart in the order it was built, in reverse.
Location makes it harder. A table in a cellar, an upstairs games room or a garage with a narrow door means carrying slate up stairs or along a passage with turns in it. Tell us about stairs, landings and door widths, and about anything fragile on the way. Floor protection goes down first. Some tables have been in place so long the floor beneath is a different colour, so nobody is surprised by that.

We plan for enough people and protect floors and door frames.
We strip the table
Cloth, cushions and rails come off first, then slate sections, then legs.
Everything is removed
The room is left with only the marks that were there when we arrived.
Where a pool table goes
A good table sometimes has a buyer who will collect it, and it is worth asking around before you book, because we do not value or buy tables. If it goes with us, slate is heavy mineral that goes with other hard material, and timber is recycled or chipped. Metal fittings go for recycling.
Worn cloth and rubber cushions are mixed materials, usually sent for energy recovery. We cannot promise a destination for any given part.

Can you get a table out of a cellar or upstairs room?
Usually, yes, with enough people. Photos of stairs, turns and doorways let us plan. Say if there is a tight spiral or a steep flight.
How many people come?
More than one. We decide after seeing your photos, based on the table size and the route.
Do you take the cues, balls and accessories?
Yes, if you want them gone. Put them in a box and tell us.
Will the floor be protected?
We lay protection along the route. Tell us if the floor is delicate or if the door frames are tight.
