What is under the boards matters
Most decks on Leeds gardens are built on damp ground, in the shade of a wall or a fence. Boards fail first, then the joists. Joists that are rotten come apart in the hand, while ones that are sound are held down with screws that have rusted into the frame. Which you have decides how long the job takes.
Decking is normally treated timber, and it is heavy when wet. We take up everything, including the posts and any concrete footings we have agreed to remove. What is left is bare ground, ready for a new deck, turf or paving.

Decking removal questions
Is treated timber a problem?
Not for us. It should not go in a garden bin or on a bonfire, which is why it goes with a registered carrier and comes with a transfer note.
Do you take out the posts and concrete footings?
We take out timber posts. Footings set in concrete are heavy and slow. Tell us in your photos and we say what is possible and how we price it.
Can you remove decking that is still solid?
Yes. Solid decking is harder because it is screwed down well, so allow more time. Tell us if you want the boards kept intact for reuse.
Will you make good the ground underneath?
We clear the debris and leave the ground bare. Levelling, membrane and new surfaces are for your landscaper.
Can you take composite decking?
Yes. Composite and plastic boards go the same way as timber.
