Carpet is heavier and dirtier than it looks
A rolled bedroom carpet feels manageable. A rolled lounge carpet with underlay stuck to it is not. Carpet that has been wet weighs far more, and old underlay crumbles into dust and foam. Stairs are the awkward part: the carpet has to be cut, rolled and carried down without dragging it through the house.
In older Leeds houses the boards underneath can be uneven, and the gripper rods are fixed with small sharp tacks. We lift them carefully and leave the floor as we find it. If the smell is the reason, tell us. Pet accidents and damp are a normal part of the work.

Can you take a wet or mouldy carpet?
Yes, though wet carpet is very heavy. Tell us how much is affected and what caused it.
Will the gripper rods and staples be removed?
Yes, if you ask us to lift the carpet. Leaving them behind would risk bare feet and the next fitter's knees.
Do you fit new carpet?
No. We are a waste removal service. Once the floor is clear, your fitter can start.
