Radiator and boiler removal in Leeds

Heavy, dirty and not ours to disconnect
Weight is the first thing people underestimate. A cast iron radiator can be a two-person lift on its own, and an old boiler with its casing and pump is no easy carry. Stairs turn that into a real job, so tell us if the radiators are already off the wall or still on the landing.
The second is safety. We do not drain, disconnect or cap anything. Systems must be drained and the appliance disconnected by a qualified heating engineer before we arrive. A radiator that still holds black water will leak through a carpet, and a boiler that is still connected is not a job for a waste crew. If in doubt, ask your installer to confirm it is ready.

Where it goes
Steel, cast iron, copper and aluminium are all worth recovering, so radiators and most of a boiler are sent on for metal recycling. Parts that are not metal, such as controls, seals or insulation, are separated where practical and otherwise sent for energy recovery.
We do not promise a route for a specific boiler or make. It depends on the model and its condition. Mentioning the details in your photos helps us plan properly.
Radiator and boiler removal questions
Can you drain the radiators when you arrive?
No. Drain and disconnect first, using a qualified person. We only collect units that are safe to lift and carry.
Do you take oil tanks or gas cylinders?
No. Those are separate matters and we do not carry them. Mention them when you book so we can talk through what to do.
What if the radiator is still full of water?
It will leak on the way out, so we would ask you to get it drained properly. If a bit of residue remains, tell us, and we will bring something to protect floors.
Do you take old boilers with asbestos parts?
No. Very old boilers may contain asbestos in flue or insulation. If yours might, get it checked by a specialist before booking.
