The streets inside LS2
The postcode reaches the markets around Kirkgate, the blocks of flats on the Quarry Hill side, the university campus with the halls and lets that surround it, and the upper edge of Woodhouse where the centre gives way to terraces. It is full of students, office staff and shoppers during the day and far quieter in the evening. The feel changes within a few minutes on foot.
Student blocks, conversions and older stairs
Purpose-built student blocks and apartment buildings dominate, most with lifts, entry systems and a reception desk or a managing agent. Older buildings, including a few Victorian conversions and the terraced streets on the Woodhouse side, have narrow stairs and no lift at all. Parking is scarce for everybody, and one-way systems around the campus make stopping awkward when traffic is heavy. So we plan the approach as carefully as the carry: where the van can pause, how far the trolley has to travel, and whether a second person is needed on the stairs.

Term dates set the pace

Can you take items out of a block with no lift?
Yes. Stairs mean more time and sometimes two people on the heavy pieces, so give us the number of floors and a rough list of what is bulky.
Is there anywhere to park near the campus?
Rarely at the door. We look at the street beforehand and pick the nearest legal stop so the carry stays short. Photos of the entrance help a lot.
