Anyone who has stripped out a kitchen knows what happens next. The units are in the garden, the worktop is across two chairs, and there is a stack of tile backer board and off-cuts against the fence. The customer is polite about it for two days. On the third day they start asking when it will be gone, and you would rather be on site than driving to a recycling centre with a full tip-up load.
A skip is the classic answer, but on a terrace street with limited parking it can mean a permit from the council and a wagon blocking the road. Some jobs simply do not justify one. What tradespeople want is somebody who will come at an agreed time, load quickly and deal with the paperwork. Because you produce the waste, you have a duty of care to pass it to a registered carrier, and keeping a note of who took it is sensible practice.

We do the lifting, tidy the collection area and send the transfer note afterwards.
Paperwork you can show a customer
Each collection comes with a waste transfer note that records the waste taken and the date. Keep it with the job file, and you can show a customer or a supplier that the site waste went to a registered carrier. That is part of meeting your duty of care as the producer of the waste, and it protects your reputation if fly tipping is ever traced back to a job. Asbestos is a specialist material and we do not take it, so if you suspect it, stop work and get it tested by the right people. Ask us about repeat work if you expect to book us regularly.
Questions
Can you take a whole kitchen strip-out?
Usually yes, if it fits in the van and we can reach it. Send photos of the units, worktops and appliances so we can say how many loads it will be.
Do you take rubble, soil and plasterboard?
Sometimes, in sensible amounts. These materials are heavy and are sorted differently at disposal, so show us photos and we will say what is realistic.
Can you collect while I am not on site?
Yes, if the customer agrees and the waste is stacked somewhere we can reach. Tell us how to get in and where to look.
What about old appliances from a fitted kitchen?
Include them in your photos. Some appliances need separate handling, so the quote states what we can take.
